His name is Juan Carlos Molina, but he’s well known in the industry as JC. He was born in Bogotá, Colombia and grew up in Los Angeles, California. When he moved to New York to pursue a degree in finance and work on Wall Street, JC discovered the city’s fashion, art and cultural textures that he would use as the palette to redesign his future. Turning left instead of staying east, he graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), with a major in Communications | Mass Media emphasis.
After college, JC began decorating sets and styling props on music video shoots. In this intensely visual context, where fashion, product placement and setting the scene are paramount, JC developed the professional skills and artistic instincts that have established him as a force majeure in his field.
Always delivering an impressive fait accompli is a patented JC Molina move, but you can be certain that it’s the first thing he sets up at every commercial and photo shoot, his client roster includes: Banana Republic, Tag Heuer, Equinox, Jim Beam, John Hardy, Netflix, Guess, Nordstrom, Sprite, Pepsi, Net-a-Porter, NetJets, Details, Glamour, GQ and W.
Favored with so many photographers for his versatile yet always complimentary set designs and prop stylings, JC’s numerous outstanding collaborations include: Nathaniel Goldberg, Diego Uchitel, Karl Lagerfeld, Peggy Sirota, Ben Watts, David Slijper and an extensive list of others.
