While growing up in Buenos Aires, Diego Uchitel took countless documentary photographs of the hospitalized patients under his physician father's care. He was constantly fascinated by the beauty of the human form - regardless of its particular condition. While medicine did not intrigue him, film and photography certainly did. He moved from Argentina to Los Angeles just after high school to pursue a career in film and enrolled at UCLA Film School. However, he soon realized that his passion truly lay in still imagery and his unique ability to work with light to capture and create images that were ethereal, romantic, emotive, and painterly. He has become known for his elegantly arresting signature style and has photographed some of the world's most beautiful and fascinating subjects for the past 20 years.
In 2012, Damiani published Diego’s first book of Polaroids “which is a curated collection of images that captures Uchitel’s signature ethereal and painterly style that span over 30 years of the photographer’s work” -Fahey Klein
